The Reading Community is a true community in every

sense of the word

We always make visitors feel very welcome, whether it be to the Synagogue or our social circles. We're a close knit community but warm and friendly to all who share our values and want to help our Synagogue and community thrive into the future. Everyone's function is nearly always a community function as well as a family one. We hope that you will feel the same way when you next come to visit us. All our services are run by visiting Rabbis and also by our own members. Feel the warmth and feeling when you visit us for a Shabbat, Yomtov or Friday evening service.

Support for young families and their children

Young families and their children have always been a central part of of everything we do, and we are doing everything we can to make our community the place to be whether you live in Reading or in the surrounding areas of Berkshire, Hampshire & Oxfordshire . We have planned a number of activities focussed on young families as well a some which integrate young and old together as part of a our thriving community. The first of these was our new Children’s Service but other idea’s are currently being progressed. Like any community it’s the people that make it happen, so come along and see what we can offer.

Support for Students

Over the years, we have a close connection with the Reading Jewish Society (JSOC) and provided a link into local Jewish life in Reading. As well as giving a warm welcome to students when they have visited the Synagogue for services and events we have always welcomed them into the homes of our members for a meal whether it be just for a Friday night or over Yom Tov if they are in Reading at the time. We like to make the students feel very much at home when they are with us. So please get in contact with us for any help we can give or events you would like to be a part of.
